Life Members

At a recent committee planning meeting held in Tanunda, the WEA was able to formally recognise and celebrate the contribution of two of our colleagues by bestowing on them life membership. The presentation was made president Ben Mcdonald at the dinner after the meeting and all members attending were very appreciative of the contribution made by the recipients in their many years of involvement in the WEA.

Peter Graue has been involved in the WEA for around 27 years more recently as a Director and Committee member. He has assisted with many South Australian activities including venue selection, provided special meeting venues, has supported his own staff to start the WEB site. And in recent years as Historian and photographer. Peter also joined in on the first New Zealand tour and in 2001 successfully applied for the WEA Travel Grant and travelled to Germany, London, Napa Valley and New Zealand before presenting his findings at the 2012 Conference.

Ken Johnson has contributed to the WEA with many rolls including Committee Member, Director and as Program Coordinator for Australia & New Zealand.
Ken was present at very early PMS gatherings at restaurants such as Die Weinstube and later in 1987, a dinner at Penfolds in Nuriootpa being some of the earliest he attended. Ken has been an active contributor to the WEA over the last 27 years or so.

The WEA wish both Peter and Ken well in their retirement and look forward to seeing them as life members at future WEA events.
