2008 WEA Conference

Improving Winery Performance

Based on the positive comments and feedback received from delegates, exhibitors and presenters, the 2008 WEA Conference held at the Wolf Blass Visitors Centre was a huge success!

An increase in delegates attending was pleasing, in particular the significant increase in the numbers from wineries, and the number of wineries represented (50 in total).

The conference hosted an excellent variety of presentations and workshops which provided great learning opportunities for delegates to share and improve their knowledge for improving vintage by reducing losses and increasing yields to improve winery performance.

Again, the conference dinner was an outstanding evening. Entertainment was provided by Nicholas Tweedy who proved to be a very popular (as well as unbelievable!!) magician and the fund raising and raffles with proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctors proved to be most profitable.

There were a total of 61 exhibitors out of 61 possible sites (as compared to 50 last year). The feedback was positive with a number indicating their intentions to exhibit again in the future.
